Scene

Set up the scene

Use the Scene workspace to make the editor viewport comfortable to work in and to set the presentation around your model.

Zoom

Choose whether scrolling zooms toward the pointer or toward the current camera target. Zoom toward the pointer is useful when inspecting a detail; zoom toward the camera target keeps navigation centered on the current view.

Grid

Show or hide the construction grid. Keep it visible when it helps judge scale and placement; hide it when it competes with a clean presentation of the model.

Ground plane

Show or hide the ground plane and choose its colour. It gives the model a visual base and helps establish its orientation in the scene.

Origin

Show or hide the world-origin marker. Use it when coordinates and the scene’s shared zero point matter; hide it for an uncluttered view.

Scene brightness

Adjust the overall viewport brightness to make forms, edges, and materials easier to read. Brightness changes the presentation, not an object’s material values.

Ambient shadows

Use ambient shadows to add soft contact shading where parts meet or sit near one another. This improves depth perception in dense assemblies.

Cast shadows

Enable cast shadows when lights should produce directional shadows from objects. Disable them when a flatter, faster, or more diagram-like view is clearer.

Lines

Control the derived CAD-style edge lines in the viewport. Lines can make manufactured forms and boundaries easier to read, especially in instructions and exploded views.

Background

Choose the viewport background colour. Use contrast between the background and the model so the active parts remain easy to distinguish.

Gizmo

Adjust the transform gizmo so its handles remain readable at the scale of your model without covering nearby features.

Light markers

Set the on-screen size of light markers. This affects how easy lights are to select in the editor, not the size or strength of the light itself.
