Arrange

Arrange an assembly

Use the Arrange workspace to position parts accurately or to open up an assembly for a clearer instructional view.

Align objects

Use Align objects to move one object in relation to a stationary object using their reference geometry.

  1. Choose the moving reference: pick a vertex, edge, face, or axis on the object that should move.
  2. Choose the stationary reference: pick a compatible reference on the object that should remain in place.
  3. Review the preview: the green arrow shows the move Visiolix will apply, then select Align to confirm it.

Alignment can project a vertex to a face, mate compatible faces, or align edges and axes. The selected moving object changes; the stationary object does not.

Exploded views

Use Create exploded view to separate selected parts around the assembly for the current step. This is a step-only presentation setting: it does not rewrite the objects’ authored transforms.

  • Include: choose which objects spread apart.
  • Distance: set how far the included objects move from the assembly.
  • Animate: play the step from the assembled pose into the exploded pose.
  • Hide grid and ground: simplify the presentation for this exploded-view step only.
  • Hide excluded parts: temporarily remove objects outside the Include list from this step’s exploded presentation.
  • Annotations: add labels to included parts when the separated view needs more explanation.
